A Voice for God’s Suffering and Persecuted Church

“This is my command: Love each other.”

Jesus Christ

such shipment of children’s picture Bibles was seized by Pakistani customs.  When the officials saw the pictures of the “holy prophets” (Jesus is also considered a “prophet” in Islam) they were outraged.  In Islam, it is considered blasphemy to have images of any of the “holy prophets.”  And since my name was on the shipment of books, I was going to be tried in the Islamic court for blasphemy, punishable by death.  Prior to my scheduled court date, at the pleading of my family, I quickly gathered my things and left for the U.S.

I often wondered why the Lord spared me.  What is His plan for me?  What was I going to do in the U.S.?  What ministry could I perform here?  How long would I be here?  Should I go back to Pakistan?  When would my family be able to join me in the U.S.?  As I struggled with these questions, the Lord slowly began to answer me.  Finally, after nearly three years of painful separation, my wife and children were able to join me in the U.S.  Increasingly, the Lord has revealed to me His calling for my time here in the U.S., which is to educate the American church about the deceptions and dangers of Islam, so that we can stand firm in this battle against the powers and principalities of darkness.

When I first came to the United States, I was shocked when I realized that most American churches, and therefore Christians, had no idea  what was happening outside of America!  But over these past few years, I have had the privilege of speaking in scores of churches, sharing my burden for the persecuted church and Christians living in the Islamic world.

Long hours of prayer have resulted in the following untold story of the Islamic faith.  It is my belief that the American church needs to be informed of the dangers of Islam.  And thus, in this short booklet, I hope to expose the deceptions and violence of Islam so that the American church will “wake up” to the wave of Islam that is coming, with an impact and an agenda beyond our comprehension.

Deceptions and Practices of Islam

The goal of Islam is to bring the world into submission to Allah through Jihad, or holy war. The Quran is the holy book of Islam, and a Muslim is a person who follows the Quran. The Quranic teachings claim that all of the prophets, beginning with Adam until now, were actually Muslims, and the Jews and Christians (also known as infidels) have misguided the world.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of every Muslim to bring all the infidels back to the Muslim faith.  In Islam, all infidels are considered to be in the House of War, and we have to accept Islam in order to be in the House of Peace, which is Islam.   Accepting Islam means accepting Mohammad as Allah’s last prophet and strictly following the Quranic teachings and life styles. If we don’t do so, we will never enter the gates of Paradise. Hadiths (the sayings of Mohammad) also encourage the acceptance of Allah’s way of life without any doubts or hesitations.

Another term associated with Islam is Sharia/Islamic Law, which is considered by Muslims to be above all other laws.  Democracy is considered evil, as it is based on man’s own interest. Sadly, the immorality and faithlessness shown by democratic societies in the west is giving credibility to their misrepresentation of the truth about democracy. Under Sharia Law, if someone is caught stealing his/her hand will be cut off, and if someone has murdered, he will be beheaded.  Women who are caught in fornication or adultery will be stoned to death and then beheaded, while the man may receive only lashes.

The Status of Women

As noted above in the difference of punishment between a man and a woman caught in the same act of adultery, women are clearly not equals and are often victims of the brutal crimes, approved of and even praised by the Quran and other Islamic teachings.   According to the Quran and the Hadiths, Allah punishes women through menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, separation from family through forced marriage, having no independence, and a lesser share in inheritance. Some other inequalities noted in Islamic law and culture are as follows.  A woman is liable to be divorced and unable to divorce.  While it is lawful for a man to have four wives, a woman can only have one husband. Women must stay secluded in the home and must keep her head covered even inside her own home.  It takes the testimonies of two women to stand up against the testimony of one man in a court of law.  A woman is not able to go out of the house unless accompanied by a near relative.  Neither can she drive a car.  Men are able to take part in Friday prayers, Eids (feast days) and funerals, while women cannot.   Women are considered ineligible for any kind of leadership or position of authority.  If a woman’s husband dies she must observe a waiting period of four months and ten days before she can remarry.  If her husband divorces her, she must observe a waiting period of three months or three menstrual periods before remarrying.  There are no such restrictions on men concerning remarriage.

The history of Muslim oppression and brutality in India is also partially linked to the practice of “suttee” or “sati pratha,” in which Hindu widows throw themselves on their husbands burial pyre.  During the Muslim invasions of India, Hindu women, in order to save their honor, used to jump into the fire after their husbands were brutally murdered. They chose this fate over the horrors of rape and abuse.

Jihad— A  State of Permanent Efforts

Jihad is considered the 6th pillar of Islam, and therefore a major doctrine in the Islamic Faith. The meaning of Jihad in the Webster’s new 20th century dictionary is:  “a Muslim holy war; campaign against unbelievers or enemies of Islam.” Following are a multitude of means through which Jihad can occur: Jihad of words, deception, sword, taxation, slavery, polygamy and of Sharia law.

What do Mohammad, the Quran, and the Hadith say about Jihad?  In one of the Hadith Bukhari, Vol. 1, No. 25, Allah’s Apostle (Mohammad) was asked, “What is the best deed for me to perform?”  The Prophet Mohammad replied, “To believe in Allah and his apostle.”  The questioner then asked, “What is next in goodness?”  The prophet replied, “To participate in Jihad in Allah’s cause.”  There are at least 109 Jihad ayats (verses) in the Quran and 14 quotations of Mohammad which express the need to fight holy wars (Jihad) against non-Muslims or infidels.

In Islamic history, more than 80% of the texts are filled with accounts of Holy War (Jihad). Early Islam was spread throughout the Arabian Peninsula solely by Jihad through a series of battles, both defensive as well as offensive. As many as 78 historic battles were fought by the Prophet Mohammad himself.  Out of those 78 battles, only one (battle of ditch) was defensive; the rest were simply offensive.

In the light of these teachings, it should come as no surprise that since 1948, the 21 Arab nations have suffered 33 wars, at least 75 unsuccessful revolutions, and the murder of 36 heads of state. Revolutions and assassinations have been the most prevalent means of political expression and attainting power. Furthermore, one out of every three barrels of oil sold by the Muslim countries in the Middle East has gone to pay for weapons.

Jihad & Crusades: Dealing with the current issue of Islamic Jihad, people often bring up the historical issue of the Christian Crusades during the Middle Ages. First, it must be said, no sort of holy war to win converts appears in the Bible, nor is it commanded in the Scriptures. But as we have seen, Jihad is both commanded in the Quran and practiced by numerous Muslim groups and governments even today.

During the Middle Ages, the Islamic Jihadists of the 7th to 10th centuries wiped out more than half of the church worldwide.  The Christian Crusades were simply a reaction to the rapid expansion of Islam by sword across North Africa, Spain and the Balkans, and the Islamic invasion of the Holy Lands. Prior to the Crusades, the whole Middle East and North Africa were predominately Christian.  During the first century of the Islamic Jihad, over 3,200 churches were destroyed or converted into mosques. The Muslim conquerors then enforced Arabic as the official medium of communication throughout North Africa and the Middle East.  Only Turkey and Iran/Persia resisted this policy of Arabization.

More recently, in 1915, over 1.5 million Christian Armenians were slaughtered by the Turks.

“Jihad Machines”:   There are at least 40 million Muslim youth in Madressas, or Islamic Schools, around the world. These schools are producing potential terrorists.  In Indonesia, there are more than 37,000 Islamic schools, and in Pakistan there are more than one million students in 10,000 Madressas.  Pakistani Madressas are described as “Jihad factories,” making “perfect Jihad machines” (Slavery Terror & Islam, p. 28).  If you meet a Muslim who says that Islam is a religion of peace and does not teach and practice Jihad, he is either ignorant of what Islam teaches, or he is just deceiving you.

Islam: Terrorizing the World

The atrocities committed in the name of Allah are grievous at best, and demonic at worst. Evil never ceases to amaze with its brutality, hate and violence.  Although frightening, here is a report of what is happening in our world today.

In certain areas of Europe, many are afraid to go into Muslim neighborhoods, which are called “little Afghanistans” or “little Pakistans.”  Whenever a crime occurs in these European Muslim communities the police have to contact the local Imam (leader of a Mosque) first, and then under his supervision they can enter the crime scene.  In 2004, 120 British Arabian girls disappeared from their homes in England, but the Muslim parents didn’t file a report of their missing daughters.  When the British police investigated, they found out that these girls were having affairs and the honor of the family was at stake.  Chances are, it was their brothers or fathers who killed them.

In Pakistan, there were more than 350 registered reports of abuse/murder of women in 2003.  The unregistered brutalities only God knows. In Afghanistan during the Taliban regime, women convicted of adultery and other crimes were brought into football stadiums and  publicly shot before the game.

In Africa, the Saudis, Libyans and Iranians are pouring their oil money into building Madressas and Mosques in the Sub-Saharan desert where people are living in extreme poverty. However, they are winning many to Islam by giving them an education, a small business, and even a wife if they so desire.

The South American countries are accommodating the Muslims who cannot enter the U.S.  Many Hispanics are converting to Islam in Mexico and Venezuela. In the town of Iguassus Falls in Brazil, there are more than 30,000 Arabs.

Muslims who are against terrorism are also threatened. One Pakistani Muslim from Tulsa, OK wrote an article condemning terrorism, and was shunned by the local Imam and the Jamat (congregation).

In 1988, there were 612 mosques in America.  Today, there are more than 2,000.  80% of the mosques here in the United States are funded by the Saudis.  Most of the terrorists who were involved in 9/11 attacks were Saudis.

The girls in Indonesia who were beheaded on their way to school, were killed in cold blood simply because attended a Christian school.

From Morocco to Afghanistan the goal is the same:  convert the world to Islam either by sword, deception or by population.  As the wave of Islam is coming, how will we respond?

In the practice of stoning, men and women are buried up to their waist or shoulders and then stoned.

As this woman is being stoned, Allah U’ Akbar (Allah is great) is being recited.

This young Pakistani girl was forced to marry a much

older man, a common practice in Islam.

How Does a Christian Respond?

After reading such shocking accounts, how should the Christian respond?  First, we must recognize that we are already in a Spiritual World War.  And with the threat of Islam knocking at our door, it is now more important than ever that we reach our friends, our family, and our neighbors for Christ, bringing His message of love and hope to the lost world.

Second, we must inform others of the practices, atrocities, and deceptions of Islam, bringing awareness to our friends, family, churches and communities.

In circumstances like this, it is good to remember that God is in complete control of everything.   We need not worry.  But as followers of the Lord, we must not sit idly by.  We have a responsibility and a part to play in this world.  Let us ask the Lord to use us however He sees fit.  And He will use each of us in a different capacity.

I ask you to pray about how you can stand with us in reaching out to our American brethren, as well as to those who are living under the tyranny and terror of Islam.

The LORD’s Calling to the

AMERICAN CHURCH

I am not an Islamic scholar but,

I did spend the first 33 years of life living in the Islamic world.

As a Pakistani Christian, I have seen and experienced a side of militant Islam that many people in America are not aware of.  I have lived under the terror of Islamic law, which hangs like a sword over our necks, waiting to drop at any moment.  And I have seen the oppressiveness and hatred Islam and its laws produce.

While I was working as a pastor and evangelist in Pakistan, one of my colleagues was shot twice in the head while distributing Bibles and other Christian literature. Another co-laborer was kidnapped and his body was found two days later brutally mutilated. Were it not for God’s intervention, I could have been next.

In 2003, I fled Pakistan because my life was in danger.  Working as a pastor and evangelist, I began distributing shipments of Bibles and other Christian materials.  One
