Muslims Attack In Jesus’ Name Ministries Leader Pastor Joshua Atieno Please be in prayer with us for our primary contact in Kenya. Joshua was in Tanzania in a ministry outreach to widows when he was attacked, beaten, robbed, striped of his clothing, and kicked repeatedly in a way meant to kill him. He survived the attack but had to have surgery. He is now recuperating at home. Thank you for the help some of you have already sent for our brother. Following is an email we recently received from our brother Joshua: My brother in the Lord, Court Wood, and all the saints in the Lords vineyard, Receive my greetings from the battlefield. I want to relay my sincere thanks to all friends and supporters who have been praying for me. The enemy came and wanted to "rob, kill, and destroy" but the lord was on my side. What the enemy could do is kick me to injure my body, take the materials I had, including my clothes, but they could not find my soul. Even if I would have died, he could not have gotten my soul. Please pray for our brother and his wife Abigail, that this will not discourage them, but rather strengthen them in the Lord. Our sacrificial help, as well as our prayers, at this time, is the best way we can encourage them forward in their extraordinary work for the Lord in Kenya and the surrounding nations. Kenya is an extremely poor and impoverished area of Africa. In Kenya, Pastor Joshua, and his precious wife Abigail, care for so many orphans, widows, and other needy people with the help of our American families in Jesus Christ. Please pray about giving to help our brethren in Kenya. The people Pastor Joshua and Sister Abigail minister to live in absolute poverty, not because they are lazy, but because of the devastated economies of Africa. There are no factories, no businesses, and few jobs. Most of the Christian community lives by subsistence farming on a day to day basis. Because of those of you who are giving and praying, we are seeing changes in their quality of living, and some of the young people are receiving an education which will give them more opportunities for better paying jobs when they are older. But there is still great need. Kenya has one of the highest malaria and HIV rates in the world. Thank you so much for giving and for praying. Apart from you, the reality of our love would be empty. Because of your prayers and your giving, and our joining our hearts and hands together with our “family,” our love for our brethren becomes the deepest possible expression of our love for our Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed, when we help our brethren, we are helping Him, for CHRIST IN US IS THE HOPE OF GLORY. "But Jesus called the children to him and said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.'" Luke 18:16-17 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Jesus Christ Luke 12:32-34 Below is a beautiful young Christian girl who is a high school student. Most of the students at St. Luke’s ministry are orphans. These are our family in Christ and need our love and help. Without an education, these children will never be able to find a decent job to support themselves and their future families. They will remain in the generations of poverty that their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents have lived in without our help. The children are bright young students, willing to work hard for an education. Please, do what you can to help continue their education. |

A precious orphan cared for by Pastor Joshua and Sister Abigail. Many of the “orphans” have no parents, or may have one living parent who is too poor or sick to care for their child. The orphan may have grandparents or other relatives, but they also are unable to care for and educate these children. At Pastor Joshua’s orphanage, the precious children are loved, given good food, medical attention when needed, and most important, are nourished in the love and faith of Jesus Christ their Savior. |

Above, a widow prays to the Lord Jesus Christ. This ministry has many “praying widows.” The widows have very little in earthly goods, but they have an extremely close relationship with their Saviour. Very early in the mornings, they meet together and begin to pray out loud for the needs of the Body of Christ. Then they joyously begin to sing to the One Who sustains them through each and every day. Whenever Pastor Joshua hears of a need, both here in the US, or in his own country, he shares it with the widows, and they pray! |
