In Jesus' Name Ministries was founded in 1986 by Court and Sandy Wood as a 501(c)3 ministry dedicated to helping the poor in the Name of Jesus Christ. We began by distributing tractor-trailer loads of food to the poor in the United States. In 1997 over 15,400,000 pounds of food and supplies were distributed to Christ-centered churches and ministries in 36 states, and then given to the poor in their areas in the Name of Jesus Christ.

In 1991, we began to receive cries for help from Christian congregations in India, the Philippines, and several African countries.  As we prayed and sought the Lord concerning these urgent needs, it became obvious we had to respond.  We began sending help to our needy brethren in these countries, and even though at first the gifts were very small, they responded with such gratefulness. We then began contacting area churches and individuals asking for their help as well.  Because of the wonderful responses we received, we were able to begin to send regular designated financial gifts to pastors and the poor in their congregations.  We asked each pastor to use half of the gift for their own families, and give the remaining half to the poor and suffering in their congregations. With permission, the donors names and addresses were given with the gift, and wonderful relationships began between our American brethren and brethren in other countries. We trusted the Lord to take care of our needs as we gave 100% of designated gifts to our family that was suffering and in such great need.

We had made a commitment to the Lord and to each other, that we would live carefully and not luxuriously if He would allow us to give 100% of all designated gifts to the poor.  He has been so faithful to us over the years, and we have tried to be faithful to Him.  We have endeavored to keep our home, office and daily living expenses to a minimum.  The glory goes to our faithful Lord.

Later, we also shared about our responsibility to help our needy brethren on a few radio broadcasts asking for help on their behalf.  Again, hearts were moved to compassion and more help began to come in.  After receiving help from their American brethren, the responses of gratitude from our brethren in other countries  have been overwhelming.

There are still so many brothers and sisters in third world countries that desperately need our help.   In Jesus’ Name Ministries is committed to do what we can for our family in Jesus Christ, and are asking you to join with us in bringing relief to them.   Will you please pray about becoming a partner with us?

We have been motivated by the exhortation of our Lord in Matthew 25: 31-46 that when brethren of the Lord are suffering for lack of food, clothing, medical care, and shelter, then Jesus Himself is suffering in His people.
