Our Brethren Behind the Gates of Hell

Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command.  2 Thessalonians 3:1-4

“When I am weak, then I am strong.” When I first meet Sanjeeva Rao in India seven years ago, he had been waiting for some time with his deacon to see me. His striking appearance caught my attention immediately.  He was only 4 feet tall and I could see under his thin shirt that his spine and chest were terribly deformed.

Carrying the Torch

In 1997 In Jesus’ Name Ministries first learned of Vimal’s father, Dr. Kristopher. He ministered as a pastor/evangelist and doctor in a remote rural and tribal area in India, at the foot of the mountains.  Naxilites, a rebel group with Communist origins, lived in the nearby mountains creating danger to anyone going into the forests...  Read More

“….we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away...” Some of the most beautiful saints I have ever met are the lepers of Tuni, Nidadavole, and Rajahmundry, India.  In Tuni and Nidadavole, the lepers live in a colony, separated from society. The Tuni colony is next to the railroad, in Nidadovole it is next to a garbage dump.  When we visit our brethren...  Read More

A Widow’s Prayer  “40 years ago, the Lord called Sister Leyamma, and her husband to serve the Lord in this tribal and remote area. Shortly after they arrived, her husband tragically died from illness. This did not stop Leyamma, and she has continued faithfully in this difficult area as a witness for Jesus Christ.  Read More

Letters  of  Thanksgiving

Today, the vast majority of Christians in our world live “behind the gates of hell” “where Satan has his throne.” These believers live in the Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and communist nations.

In these nations our brethren live as minorities, and suffer from persecution, and cultural prejudice.  In countries like Burma (Myanmar), China, and N. Korea, governments silence Christians by execution and imprisonment.  In Muslim nations Christians live in fear of their lives if they dare to speak of Jesus Christ.  In India almost all Christians are  “untouchables” or “dalits” and have been economic slaves for 3,000 years.  In other countries such as the African states, poverty reigns, and Christians are caught in the crossfire of tribalism and Islamic threat.  These Christians are our family in Jesus Christ. They need our love and help.

In Jesus’ Name Ministries seeks to build relationships between American Christians and our brethren living “behind the gates of hell.”  It is our prayer that we will see an awakening to New Testament giving which focuses on Christians truly loving one another as our Lord commanded.

As you see the faces of your brethren, we hope you are inspired by their love and faith.  They need our love and help.  And we equally need their love and prayers.   When we help our brethren, we are helping Jesus.  For He lives in the hearts and lives of those who love Him.
